Housed within what was once a water tower for the City of Tavira, is a camera obscura providing a 360 degree panoramic view of the city. Think back to school science projects, especially all you photography enthusiasts, for you may have made a similar device consisting of pinhole for light, a dark room, mirrors and a lens. Using levers and pulleys we saw the entire town, watched people cross the Roman bridge and a woman checking her laundry. A little creepy maybe watching people this way, kind of a spy glass before drone technology but hearing the comical antidotes from our host and watching how he zoomed into and out of areas as he provided stories and details about the city was entertaining. Later in the day, when we crossed the Roman bridge, we looked back at the Camera Obscura tower and waved!
